I think the problem is more so the MC needs a cassus belli to justify interfering for his kingdom so he doesnt get another revolt. We don’t know exactly how much the kingdom operates but it would be reasomable to assume the citizens are wouldn’t be happy with a sudden war with an unknown enemy and there is no gurantee they know how powerful the other side is.
