Yeah had to re-read the previous chapter and this one as well to make sense of it. So basically: Vandaleou’s soul is a repaired soul from one of the original heroes that came to Lambda… I almost belived this chapter was not from this manga if not by the last images…

In the future this will make sense since she and he are going to meet and this anomaly will be explained.

Not really that bad honestly. Its just another brick to our MC tragic destiny. And also showed us a lot about the world.
The only thing I dislike is that The universe isnt as i thought split between “gods” of reincarnation where rodcum is just one of many.
But Vida is just a rogue god that made its own species.
I hate rodscum W I hope ots his last.

Then, his luck is soo rotten and his mana is soo big even if we think about the hole because his soul is a fusion of four broken souls… Thank you for The chapters brothers

Minor correction, it’s never made clear how much if any his mana is from the combined soul fragments. Much later (in the WN at least, and minor possible spoilers, so you’ve been warned) it is made clear to Van that NONE of the abilities of the Champions was made to be inheritable. So, likely little to none of the mana is based on the fragments. Van’s initial mana is huge because Ratcortex done fucked up. If you strip every bit of fate, fortune, and affinity (for magic) from a soul, you leave a vast amount of “empty space” which is represented by mana in Origin and Lambda. Much like taking negative perks/flaws or deliberately tanking your stats in TT or CRPGs can get you bonus points. So the Undead had a ton of magic, and developed Death Magic in part because he lacked the capacity for anything previously existing on Origin. Then Ratcortex further cursed the soul, before it incarnated as Van, which are further HUGE flaws, and generated additional empty space and mana.

Wouldn’t it be an interesting system in an RPG character creator, where you essentially spend maximum MP on selecting a class, initial stats, affinities, and perks, with the option to skip any of them to keep a large amount of maximum MP?
Balancing would probably be a nightmare for the devs, but still 😄

        Nice spoiler.

Me laughing reading at the fackup thing rocordte did to MC.

The author is so much better on this world building and explanation of MC OPs origin, as a scale of balance.

Really hate other novel where everything is unexplainable plot armor and the parabolic power scaling

Additional side note – Van’s luck is indeed still pretty rotten, except his love luck as it were. But his fate and destiny was partially offset by the actions taken in this chapter, so that Vida could try to prevent him from falling into utter despair. Then again, since Vida is the Goddess of Life and Love, it’s not surprising that the only areas Van -IS- lucky in comes to staying alive and collecting love.

Wait…. so Vandalieu is this soul’s amalgam… but was he not a soul from Earth that lived through 2 other worlds first? This doesn’t add up.

Rodcorte system manage 3 planets at the same time : Earth, Origin (the planet at chapter 1) and Lambda. Souls get purified and reinjected in any planet after death. So the patchwork soul got sent to Earth in the process (IIRC, it was wanted in the novel. Since the patchwork soul has a lot of mana, it was sent where magic didn’t exist)

It’s also the reason why they can isekai through Rodcorte: it’s just the normal system of the soul going from one world to another but memory is not erased and the soul got buffed. But it still requires death (The isekai by the Lambda gods is a separate issue. The Gods did that without Rodcorte help but it required a lot of power from them.)

There is a missing context that this cut out explanation could lead to misunderstanding..

Rodcorte does not just casually manages the 3 planets.

He manages countless worlds, and in one cluster we have Earth, Origin and Lambda.

Usually souls remain in their own world, but because the Champion’s souls were not from a world managed by him, he feared that, letting these souls being taken by Vida could lead to errors later (besides, the chance of stealing his authority), so he took them into another world from the same cluster. That ended up being Earth.

And to make things a touch more confusing, the Earth that the Heroes were summoned from in this chapter is NOT the same Earth that Van and the Bravers were born on (presumably our Earth). 🙂 SPOILER – SPOILER – SPOILER : One day Ratcortex is going to actually figure out that Van -is- the soul of the former Creation Heroes, which he had deliberately segregated far and away. And the reason he didn’t realize, is the same reason Van got screwed – Ratcortex just didn’t bother to look at him at all, because the rat he uses for a brain was eating waxed cheese and fruit.

Just means his soul wound up on earth after being formed from the fragments of the souls, then he died yet again, and again and again until he found his way back to the 1st planet he reincarnated as 4 people before becoming a singular person

      1st life, earth, Amamiya Hiroto

2nd life, origin, D-01 -> Undead(probably his codename given by the faker Amameya Hiroto),

3rd life, lambda, a mixture of Amamiya Hiroto and Zakkart -> Vandalized (Amamiya Hiroto consciousness with Zakkart particles to offset Rodecarte’s curse).

Based from re-reading from chapter 1. Lmao

Not entirely correct. Souls are constantly reincarnated on one planet and don’t leave them. In “chronological” order:

        – Zakkart is a normal soul on Earth -> gets transported to Lambda (This happended somewhat recently on earth but 10k years ago in Lambda
        – Zakkart dies in Lambda, his soul gets “repaired” and send back to Earth by Rodcorte (Aka sould recycling)
        – Zakkart’s soul gets reincarnated on Earth some times… (Now it’s basically Vandaliu)
        – Vandaliu gets reincarnated as Amamiya Hiroto and by pure Luck gets transported to Origin where he dies as D-01
        – Somewhere here does Vida get her premonition
        – Vandaliu gets transported to Lambda (Both times Rodcorte misses that he is the Zakkart-Frankenstein-Soul)

Correction based on the WN (Unknown if true in LN) – the *Earth* that the Champions of this chapter comes from is NOT the Earth that Van (and theoretically we the reader) come from. So Zakkart is born on alt-Earth, goes to Lambda, dies with his soul shattered, Ratcortex combines the soul fragments of all 4 Creation heroes and reincarnates it on “our” Earth, soul reincarnates some unknown number of times during the first few Ratcortex checks for any abnormalities and seeing none ignores the soul henceforth, is born as Amamiya who dies, is reincarnated as an experimental subject on Origin, dies and possesses own body on Origin as Undead, is killed by Bravers, Ratcortex interferes AGAIN and further curses proto-Van, who is sent to be reincarnated on Lambda, Vida interferes combining her own blood/essence and residual elements of Zakkart into the new being, who is reincarnated through Vida’s system, leaving Ratcortex’s.

Note, as Scheff mentions, when Ratcortex overlooked Amamiya prior to his first reincarnation, and again when forcibly shoving the curses into Proto-Van, he never ever bothered to examine said soul. Which is why he never realized it was that of the champions, which he had DELIBERATELY segregated on Earth.

This cut out a lot of background from the LN.

TL;DR is Suzuki was a “return-to-nature” 1970s Japanese student protestor zealot/eco-terrorist. And had a literal and figurative messiah complex. They (old gods, Aldidiot mainly) intentionally let the Creation heroes die when the fracture occurred; resulting in massive losses to that world’s human population. 99% or more.

It was explained in a lot more detail. As well as how the “old gods” were extremist conservatives, rejecting Vida and anything “new”. Then digging in their heels despite ample evidence to the contrary. ‘For the greater good’ being their blind rallying cry behind their blatant atrocities.

Then again, there was more personification of the other 3 Creation heroes here in this chapter, than multiple volumes of novel.

The “cut out content” actually is not from this chapter either, so you are the one giving spoilers here.

These details for the most part appear much later, in fact, they are not even in the Light Novel as of yet, only in the Web Novel.

Also, many details, such as Gufa’s introduction, are not from this time either, the Mangaka adapted the story taking some elements from the future, but that’s not like he took absolutely everything.

The fact that this chapter had so much information, even after it cut out just as much (if not more than) what remained here in this chapter, that I had to read the entire comment section (including all the spoilers) just to mostly understand it really says something. I’m not sure what exactly, I’d have to take some time to ruminate on all this, but it certainly says something.

Idk if it means the author (or perhaps just whoever is behind the manga adaptation) is “bad” or “good” at writing given how complicated this all seems, but man this chapter came outta nowhere with how much it tried to explain.

Remember the order is important but to correctly understand the story of van o amemiya it begins here (the end of the war) this story begins and it is later revealed why the demon king (original) invaded lambda

I dislike this move by the mangaka departing from the LN & WN. It was a bad move to do a 100k year flashback to show what happened… especially when a lot of the early part of the story, besides Van surviving and accumulating strength & comrades, is figuring out Lambda (including it’s systems & entrenched powers), why the world is stuck in stagnation, what happened during the war with the Demon King, & how things even got to this point of desperation.

Like many adaptations to other media (not just LN’s & WN’s to manga/anime), this manga has a bit of an issue with keeping the pacing correct & true to the original story. Just to be clear, I love this story from the WN & LN and I don’t want to see it’s adaptation ruined with a rushed job without sufficient patience & effort. There’s a ton of room for the mangaka to add their own touches & expand on the story & worldbuilding, but so far I haven’t seen much of anything good added, only subtracted.
